Falling off the Bandwagon, and Getting Back on!

Yesterday I did something I haven't done in awhile...

I fell off the bandwagon.

I had an un-planned cheat day - that consisted of me stuffing my face at my boyfriends house with cookies, Amish friendship bread, cookie salad and chocolate dipped pretzels until I was STUFFED.

It was NOT a pretty sight.

I knew I had the self control to not take any of his Mom's treats...

(she was randomly baking up a STORM of the most delicious smelling things..)

But for some reason I gave in to temptation.

Any fellow bloggers who food binge know that one cookie leads to just one more, which usually leads to a full on binge fest of stuffing your face without any regard to the consequences.

A day where you food binge usually results in guilty feelings, and the mindset that the "whole day" is wasted so there is no point in fixing it - and eating healthy.

I am a recovering food-aholic. Through my journey I have food binged less and less!

Until yesterday.... I couldn't even remember the last time I went crazy like that!

There is nothing I can do now, except:

 Hop BACK on the bandwagon
 Remember why I started
Plan for success
Remember I need to fuel my body - not treat it like a trash can
Set Goals
& remember that it's going to be OK.

Have you ever struggled with binge eating?

What do you do to steer clear of temptations?

Getting Back Into the Swing of Things

Isn't it weird how after a vacation, you come back and it feels like your life may have been altered in some small way?

All of a sudden, you have to take time to adjust back into your schedule!!!

Today I finally got back in the swing of things!

I prepared meals for myself instead of being lazy and eating out, grocery shopped, and remembered to take pictures of my food!!

I never workout on Sunday, so I will be back in the gym on Tuesday and I CANNOT WAIT!

Also, somehow this happened today.......

Breakfast: Strawberry Pineapple fruit salad, 2 pieces of Bacon & 1 Egg

Snack: GIANT APPLE

Lunch:  Turkey and Cheese roll ups... okay this was a little lazy...

Dinner: Fruit and Cheese Platter!!!!

I have felt so lazy not working out since I ran on the beach on my trip to California, but I CANT WAIT to get back into the daily grind!!!

Also, my new job & summer school starts Monday so all my hours will different than I am used to..

I AM READY FOR CHANGE!

Last but not least, my beautiful new lunch box came in the mail!!

I bought this when I learned of my crazy school schedule coming this fall..... Previous to this I had been carrying around a GIANT cooler so I was super excited when I found the Bento company and their Laptop Lunches!!!!!

Hope everyone has an amazing Memorial Day weekend :)

BACK From Vacation!!!

First things first:

Hello to all my new followers!!!

While I was on vacation, it seems I have got quite a bit if action here!!!

I will do my best to write back to everyone who left me a comment!

I had an AMAZING time in Huntington Beach with my friends!!

My boyfriend doing the "girlfriend" over head squat with me!!!

I Played beach volleyball with my friends in a BIKINI

Was in the audience at the Jimmy Kimmel Show!!!

Saw a 30 Seconds to Mars Concert!!

And most importantly I had the most DELICIOUS cheat meal at Ruby's on the Pier!

I'm so happy!

I can't remember a time when I was ever "satisfied" with my body.

I always felt like I had something to be ashamed of, and that if my body wasn't perfect I COULD NOT wear a swim suit in public (comfortably).

I have been working hard on transforming my body for the past 7-8 months, and for the first time ever I WAS NOT ASHAMED OF MYSELF!!!!

I wore my bikini, played beach volleyball, football, and jumped in the waves without a care in the world!!

I even let myself be photographed which is HUGE because I used to rather be dead than have a photo taken of me in a swim suit.

I even put it on face book and instagram.... MY PERSONAL ACCOUNTS!!!

Also, the nicest thing ever happened, one of my good friends from high school texted me and told me my body looked great! I thought that was SO nice, and instead of brushing off her compliment, I remembered a talk I heard at a meeting I had for work with my school district.

A inspirational speaker named Gale said "life is too short, so from now on when someone gives you a compliment look into their eyes and tell them thank you and how much it means to you".
This hit me hard because I have ALWAYS been one of those people who brush aside compliments.

So when I got that text  I said "thank you so much, that is SO nice to hear! I have been working really hard, thank you!"

I'm so happy I have taken the steps in my life I needed to be a healthier, happier and more confident person.

I may not be exactly where I want yet, but I'm enjoying the journey!!!!!

(the picture on the left is REALLY blurry sorry)

Here is a picture on my boyfriend and I last summer on the beach and THIS summer on the beach!!

Even though the cropping made it blurry, You can still see some of the difference!

I have lost 19 lbs since then and I actually wore a bikini on the beach!!!

What is your favorite vacation spot?

THE DIFFERENCE A YEAR CAN MAKE

Last summer I went to California on a trip with my boyfriend, his brother & sister in law.

THIS is what I looked like on the beach:

157 lbs and Me in Xtra Large Nike Shorts and an XL tank top..

There was a swim suit on under that outfit, but it was NOT coming out in public!!!!

This summer will be different!
(awkward selfie I know)

I took this picture last night when I was packing for California.
138 lbs, allot more muscle and ALLOT more confidence!

THIS summer I wont be hiding myself under nike shorts and a tank top!

I may not be where I WANT to be yet.... BUT I'm PROUD of where I am and I am NOT going to be ashamed of what I look like anymore!!!!

I can't believe I have almost stuck with this healthy eating/excercise

plan for almost a YEAR!

Progress was slow, but it was SO, so worth it.

I can't wait to see my progress NEXT SUMMER!!!!!!!

Temptations

This weekend was a ROUGH weekend for me to be on the 30 Day Challenge...

Talk about TEMPTATION!!!!!! I had to make these for my mom for mother's day....

Yup I ate one. NOT proud.

BUT

Yesterday I had another great day of the 30 Day Challenge!!!!

Started out my day with this gem for breakfast:
 Grapefruit, Pineapple, Carrot Juice!

Then went to crossfit:
I was able to hit :
115 lbs for the power clean
100 lbs for the bench press
125 lbs for the front squat

Then I snacked on some fruit before I had the BEST salad ever

Green lettuce with bbq'ed turkey breasts and home made mango salsa with avocado as dressing... YUM

Dinner I went out to Japanese with some friends and got my go to healthy meal at the restaurant: Lettuce wraps with no rice sticks!!!

Hope everyone else had a great and healthy start to the week!

Bacon for Dinner

Today I had a LONG, LONG day.

I'm a spoiled person when it comes to jobs..  I get to be active & play with kids!

BUT TODAY, I had to go into a training from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

HOW DO PEOPLE SIT AT DESKS ALL DAY!!!???

My legs and butt were so cramped, and my stomach started to feel bloated and my back started to get achey from sitting up straight in a chair and working/testing/listening for all that time!!

I seriously have new respect for anyone who works a desk job, and am SO GLAD I am majoring in education.... a Job that requires you to move around frequently!!!!

Breakfast was 2 fried eggs & broccoli!

These are the things I packed to the training today for lunch & snacks!!!

Was it weird being the only person at the training NOT taking the free starchy/sugary snacks & eating fresh foods out of tubs?

Yes, I will say it WAS a little weird.

Was it worth it?

HECK YEAH!

While everyone there munched on cookies & crackers & candy all day, I ate like a KING!

Dinner:
ISN'T IT BEAUTIFUL??!!!!

After a long day sitting, bored out of my mind I decided I deserved a treat!!!
I came home, stretched and I made guacamole and dipped bacon in it.

BEST DINNER EVER.

For a "workout" tonight I played volleyball with some friends from high school!!

It was allot of fun!!

In the beginning I was afraid to go after the ball, but by the end I was actually getting into it!!

and WOW volleyball really works up a sweat! I'm going to try and play games like that more often!

Hope ya'll had a great day!

It's amazing how sitting at a desk all day can really wipe you out!

Job Interviews, CrossFit & Staying Motivated!

I started out my day by going to a Job Interview!!! I was going for the business profesh look hahah!

What do you think I should do this Summer?

Work 2 jobs and save money for next year, or enjoy myself while it lasts and work 1 job before I start my junior year of College?

(Personally, I'm leaning towards the 2nd option)

Breakfast: 2 fried eggs served omelette style & an avocado

 Lunch: Chicken & Hummus Salad

Snack: Strawberries

Dinner: Famous Dave's BBQ Chicken, Ribs & Green Beans AGAIN!
The boyfriend and I have some FREE coupons we need to finish off before they expire in the end of May!!
BBQ Overload this month!

I LOVED This workout!!! I was able to hit 95lbs on my push press and I did not even catch my time at the end of the dog sleds because I pretty much passed out on the floor, but they were HARD

Just me, dead on the floor after pushing the sled!!!

Tomorrow I have a Training ALL DAY (8 am to 5 pm) for my new/summer job so I packed up a days worth of snacks/meals:

I LOVE feeling prepared and motivated!!!!!! Ever since I have started instagram I have been SUPER motivated to eat as clean as possible and get back into the whole weight loss thing!

What do you do to stay motivated?

10 Months of Healthy Blogging!!!!

I started out my day by comparing what I have been able to accomplish in the past 10 months...
The left my first Day in July 2012 weighing 157 lbs, the right my last weigh in April 2013 @ 138 lbs!

When I put these two pictures side by side I was SHOCKED!
I did not realize what a BIG difference was made!

Maybe only I notice because it is my body...

But my face & boobs & waist have DEFINITELY gotten smaller!!!

It's amazing what (almost) a year of mostly clean eating and going to the gym at least 3 days a week will give you!!

I'm SO HAPPY I decided to change my life!!! Everyday I feel healthier & happier about my body!

I can't wait to see what the future holds and I am SO EXCITED TO ROCK A BIKINI THIS SUMMER!

Also,
I FINALLY made an instagram, and that was one of the pictures I posted yesterday!!!

You can follow me at:

thatfitnesschicxoxo

Day 2:

 Breakfast: Smoothie.
Banana, Strawberries, Milk.

 Lunch: Famous Daves
2 ribs, 1/4 of a chicken & green beans

Dinner: Some kind of chicken cooked in a pineapple salsa? With mixed Veggies & fruit!

(my sweet boyfriends mom invited us over for dinner and cooked this in my honor, knowing I was doing a Paleo Challenge!)

***Then she invited me over the next day for enchiladas... which I politely declined ;)

I did well on my graph today (I am going for more fat and protein, less carbs) so this made me happy!

And THEN I made a grocery list for when I get my next pay check!!!
(that means I don't need these for the week-week food, just frivolous spending) ;)

I've been thinking allot about how I can make my lifestyle more "liveable".

I'm not one of those people who could be hardcore Paleo FOREVER!!!

But I have decided I LOVE being gluten free.

I started doing research last night about a few different things I could add back into my diet
 (in proper proportions).
I have been looking through the AWESOME blog Mark's Daily Apple and if you search his website, you will find he has gone through the different health benefits/negative aspects of ALLOT of foods!!!!

Things like:

Steel Cut Oats
Brown Rice?

I'm going to keep researching the best gluten-free, almost paleo things that fall under the EAT CLEAN category!

Do you eat rice? Steel cut oats?

What type of eating plan do you follow?
