My Adventures into Weightlifiting & Photo Diet

I know all of you are wondering (okay, no one was wondering) why I didn't post a "wod" on Monday!

WELL, the answer is this:

I attended one of my gyms weightlifting classes!

Weightlifting Classes at my gym consist of: Olympic Lifts done over & over again at a % of your max weight, so you can work on form.

I went AGAIN tonight, Not because I enjoyed it, but because I really need to work on form.

I have definitely gotten allot stronger these past couple months, BUT without the proper technique I am going to hurt myself - now that I am lifting heavier weights.

Weightlifting is a very weird workout.....

Unlike Crossfit, you hardly feel fatigued at the end.

At the end of Crossfit I die on the floor and make a sweat angel (okay, sweaty butt print)

At the end of weightlifting, I feel like I should run 3 miles as to get a proper workout!

It's all very weird to me, but I'm going to try to keep going a few nights a week to get proper form!

Photo Diet:
Breakfast: Veggies, 2 eggs, Broccoli, Banana.

Lunch: Avacado Spinach Salad with chicken

Dinner:
Mango Salsa Pork Chop with Baked potato & Broccoli!

Bad part:
Unfortunatley, my boyfriends mom made cookies.

At the end of this awesome day of eating healthy, I ate THREE cookies!

........................

Tomorrow I will be right back to eating well!

Photo Diet (Past 2 Days) & Wod!

Yay! I'm able to blog on a weekday! It's a miracle!

I'm finally starting to figure out this whole living far away from civilization thing.

I'm working on squeezing time into my day to workout, instead of night. Ta-da!

Photo Diet Yesterday & Today:

This, my friends is the Bread-less person's DREAM COME TRUE!!!!
Boyfriend made CAULIFLOWER BUNS
(see the recipe for cauliflower pizza crust)
To go on our Hamburgers!!!!!

Sometimes, its nice to eat something that looks like it bread. I don't know why.

I am so excited because I had an AWESOME Wod today and I improved ALLOT on my Hand Stand Push Ups!!!!!

Wod:

This was the scaled version of the wod that I put to my own abilities!

I was very ecstatic that my handstand push ups had improved! I can't wait to start working on them at a deficit!

In other news:
I've been sick with a cold all week/last weekend and it's been making my body feel achy and exhausted... No matter how much sleep/vitamins I get!!!

Nonetheless, I've been pushing through and getting to the gym :)

Hope ya'll are having a great week!

Photo Diet, Wods & Weddings!

I had such a fun and crazy week this week!

I know I dropped off the blogging face of the earth... I'm still working on getting home in time to blog at night!

The last time I blogged was Tuesday, and since then I managed to eat very clean ALL week - until the weekend.

Here are some of the yummy & healthy choices I made:

I'm not beating myself up about it the "bad eating weekend" at all... I know that their will ALWAYS be a party, or event, or somthing going on where I won't always get to eat 100% clean.

I'm okay with it though! As long as I make good choices when I CAN!

Here is a picture of the cookie I ate from an ADORABLE bridal shower I went to:

So Today, I grocery shopped for lunches and snacks all this week:
Chicken, Apples, Spinach, Broccoli, Green Beans.

Then I meal Prepped for the entire week! YAY!

Last week I felt so good, and I noticed a BIG difference in my body just by eating so well!

So I'm going to try and do the same this week.

I practically cut out: cheese, milk, bad salad dressing, and eating out.

Also, Wedneday and Friday I did two awesome Wod's!!!

On Wednesday, The boyfriend and I went in and did some lifting - independant from the Gym's programming.

I Squatted 5-5-5-5-5 at 85 lbs, Press at 55  lbs 5-5-5-5-5 and Deadlifted 5 single reps at 135.

For Friday, I ROCKED!

I was SO PROUD OF MYSELF!

For the O.H.S. I hit a new max of 105 lbs!

I have been really loving lifting lately, and I can't wait until I start a new job and am able to work a schedule where I can attend the weightlifting classes!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Dani!

Wod, Motivation by an Old Frenemy & Photo Diet

First Things First, Today's Wod:

I loved this wod. It was CHALLENGING!
I did the rx 95 lbs cleans... It definitely held me back from getting a score with higher reps... But I felt AWESOME actually being able to do the "rx" version of a workout!

Secondly,
Have you ever had a friend whom you loved dearly...but also felt like there was some sort of unspoken, secret competition going on between the two of you?

Well I have had a few of those friends before in my life!

Last night I was cruising around on instagram, and saw that one of my old friends (frenemy) was now doing Crossfit and eating Paleo!!!

If it was any old friend of mine, I would have been SO happy for them.

And I AM happy for her....

But what REALLY happened was I jumped off my lazy butt, did a late night meal prep for the week:

See! All filled with steamed veggies, sliced fruit, washed spinach and chicken!

Then when I woke up this morning I ate my usual scrambled eggs, but WITH brocolli... AND NO CHEESE!

I love cheese, so that was quite the accomplishment for me.

Then for lunch I had a spinach and chicken salad with some new no sugar added organic dressing from sprouts:

Snacked on an Apple.....

And ate a healthy dinner at the boyfriends house after my wod:

With a dessert of Pineapple, while I watched the newest episode of- The Following!

Who knew that my motivation would return with a vengeance, just from seeing one of my old frenemies from high-school decided to jump on the healthy train?

Do you have any Frenemies?

A little competition never hurt anyone....

THE SPARTAN RACE!!!!!!

As most of you know, I signed up for the Arizona Spartan Sprint in July when I first started this blog - as a training goal of mine!!!

Let me just say, I am so GLAD I did!!

Boyfriend and I after the Race, Muddy and FREEZING!

The Race was Challenging yet FUN and I am so proud of myself for finishing!

The Race was held in the McDowell Mountains.... ROUGH for Running! We were constantly running up and down hills!

The Run was a total of 4 miles long with crazy obstacles along the way!

For each obstacle you couldn't do, you had to do 30 burpees...

I am proud to say I did ZERO burpees! :)

This was the rope climb..the HARDEST event for me in the race!!!

It was 20 feet tall, and the bottom of the rope was submerged in water - I started waist high in freezing cold water!

The rope was soaked and I was absolutely terrified the whole climb!
Literally- I was shaking like a leaf and halfway up I almost came back down.

Lucky for me, Boyfriend was at the bottom of the rope cheering me on and gave me the courage I needed to reach the top of the rope!!!

It took me an hour and a half to finish overall, but I am SO proud of myself for finishing the race!

Back in July when I first started this journey, I couldn't even run 1 mile without stopping.

Now I do Crossfit, I can Run, and I am almost back to being in the best shape of my life :)

Today I weighed in at 140 lbs, making my total weight-loss 17 pounds!

No crash diet, no crazy secrets.

Exercise, Healthy Food and allot of dedication and motivation!!!!

Last but not least, thank you SO MUCH for following my blog the past 7 months and encouraging me!!!

Without you guys, I probably wouldn't have lasted two weeks!

I can't wait to see what the future holds!

Where Have I Been?

What a CRAZY week!

Now that I am officially moved, I cannot believe how much my life has changed!

It is so weird living 15-20 minutes away from EVERYTHING!

At my old house I lived a MAX of five minutes from friends, food & the gym.

This week I did not blog due to lack of adjustment and poor planning!

Somehow, that twenty minute drive back to my house every night has made it ridiculously hard for me to blog.

I know, I know I sound like a complainer - but it's true!

This week I am hoping to plan better and get home at an earlier time each night so I am able to stick to my blogging goals!

What I ate this Week:

I managed to eat pretty healthy, but I DID eat allot of meals out - due to the poor planning I previously posted about!

The good news is today I am going to get my butt to the grocery store and meal prep for the week :)

My Valentines Day:

Can you say yuck? For breakfast I had a cinnamon roll and for lunch I had a cupcake. Thank GOODNES  boyfriend took me out to my favorite Healthy Greek Restaurant for dinner!!!

My Valentines Flowers:
Boyfriend made me Bacon Flowers for Valentines Day :) I absolutely LOVED them!!!!

Paleo Flowers... YES!

These were great to have for breakfast for the days following Valentines Day and helped me get on track after the V-day cupcake & cinnamon roll :)

Coming Soon: My Spartan Race Review!!!!

Hope ya'll had a great week!
